Although Term 2 was a shorter block, it was another brilliant, action-packed five weeks for our Empire girls.
With Ramadan commencing this month and many of the squad preparing for our upcoming Portugal tour, we delivered a focused five-week training block beforehand, designed to make the most of every session. The girls worked incredibly hard both in the gym and on the pitch, showing great improvements and a real commitment to their development.
This term we:
Increased our focus on strength and conditioning
Continued building core technical skills
Introduced more 15s-based training to broaden their understanding of the game
We finished the term with a fantastic session delivered by High Performance Systems. The girls took part in a nutrition and mindset workshop, which included making their own performance energy gels, and continued developing their understanding of emotional regulation through the Red 2 Blue method. It was a great way to round off the block and reinforce the importance of looking after both the body and mind.
We also delivered camps 4 and 5 at 321 Sports this term. Both camps were fantastic and it’s been great to see that group of girls continuing to grow together. Across the two camps, we focused on developing their physical conditioning in the gym alongside progressing their rugby skills on the pitch.
We are now looking ahead to our Portugal tour (26th–30th March), which is an exciting opportunity for the girls to represent Empire and compete internationally!
Term 3 begins on Sunday 19th April, and we can’t wait to welcome back all returning players, as well as new faces, as we finish the season strongly together.
Term 3 registrations will go live very soon!
Thank you, as always, for your continued support 💜
